Ex-Detective Facing Kidnap and Rape Charges

Anthony Nicholas Orban, a former Westminster police detective, has been accused of kidnapping a woman from Ontario Mills mall in 2010 and raping her at gunpoint. He now faces kidnapping and rape charges of a 25 year old waitress who was attacked when she was leaving work.
The woman managed to escape during the attack and reach the authorities. Orban's friend, Jeff Thomas Jelinek, a corrections officer at the Chino Institution for Men, picked up Orban and drove him back to the mall.
Orban had left his police service weapon in the victim's car, which Ontario police later recovered.
In 2011, Jelinek pled guilty to being an accessory to a crime and agreed to testify against Orban.
Orban's main defense is that he was under the influence of anti-depressants and was not in control of his actions. The difference between Orban arguing a good defense is whether or not he has an outstanding, aggressive, and knowledgeable criminal defense attorney in his corner.
