Two Hit and Runs, Two Deaths

Two separate hit-and-runs that caused deaths occurred early Saturday March 17, 2012 in the San Fernando Valley.
The first incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Kester Avenue in Van Nuys when a vehicle struck a pedestrian who was crossing a crosswalk.
The driver fled the scene but turned himself in around 4 a.m.
Around 6:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a body on the street at the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Glenoaks Boulevard in Pacoima. The victim, described as an 80 year old woman was struck by a vehicle, possibly a silver Nissan SUV, which fled the scene.
Detectives are investigating leads on the second hit-and-run.
