Former Marine Sentenced to 29 Years Prison For Murder

Christian William Carney, 25, a former U.S. Marine was sentenced Friday to state prison for nearly 29 years for the murder of Stephen Serrano, 20, a San Clemente marnme, in 2008.
The DA office has stated that the murder occurred over a drug dispute involving money. .
Apparently, Carney was a drug dealer who sold cocaine and Ecstasy at Camp Pendleton in Southern California. While he was away from base, Serrano and another Marine stole his drug money,
When Carney found out, he and fellow Marine Alvin Reed Lovely, 24, of Dallas, allegedly drove Serrano to a secluded area in San Clemente and shot him four times.
The body was found by a jogger two days later.
Carney was sentenced to 28 years and eight months to life in prison. Lovely is awaiting trial for murder.
