Battery Committed Against Bell Councilman

Nestor Valencia, Bell Councilman, was punched in the head when trying to come in between a family dispute on Sunday June 3, 2012.
According to Valencia, Marco Cardenas' parents neighbors called him Sunday saying there was trouble at the house, but they didn't want to summon police.
The councilman said the neighbors told him that Cardenas had roughed them up, and they were scratched and their shirts were torn.
Valencia went to the house around 10 p.m. and the suspect was running after his mom and dad and as Valencia tried to intervene, he got punched in the head.
Police arrested and booked Marco Cardenas, 30, on suspicion of battery, making terrorist threats and disobeying a court order. Cardenas was held on $50,000 bail.
Criminal charges such as battery, terrorist threats can result in some serious consequences.
