| Man Plead Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter and Now Faces Deportation |

Oscar Raul Medina-Perez, 24, from Huntington Beach, was sentenced Friday to 10 months in jail and three years of informal probation as a result of pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
Perez is expected to be deported to Mexico by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Perez punched Leovardo Vera Bustos, 24, after getting into an argument with him while both were standing in front of La Barca Night Club in Stanton on the night of July 5. Perez pleaded guilty to punching and killing the 24 year old.
California Penal Code section 192(b) defines involuntary manslaughter as an unlawful killing that takes place during the commission of an unlawful act or during a lawful act that involves a high risk of death of great bodily harm amounting to criminal negligence.

| One of The Largest Take Downs in San Diego FBI History |

More than a 100 suspected gang members were arrested in San Diego on Wednesday January 25, 2012. These arrests were part of a wide ranged investigation of alleged racketeering, firearms trafficking, and drug distribution by the Mexican Mafia.
Federal and local officials arrested 104 of the defendants, including the suspected Mexican Mafia members. Fifteen suspects remain at large.
Two of the suspects, Rudy Espudo and Salvador Colabella, are believed to be high-ranking members of the Mexican Mafia, who are accused of overseeing the criminal activity.
The Mexican Mafia has ties with thousands of gang members in Southern California.
The arrests mark "one of the largest single takedowns in San Diego FBI history".

| Pinkberry Co-Founder Arrested For Beating Homeless Man |

Young Lee, 47, one of the founders of the Pinkberry yogurt chain was arrested Monday January 16, 2012 by the LAX Fugitive Task Force for assault with a deadly weapon.
Lee was arrested for an outstanding warrant for an assault in downtown Los Angeles that occurred in June 2011 in which Lee was accused of chasing down a homeless man and beating him with a tire iron.
Lee was in the process of paying $60,000 bail and being released from jail.

| Coast Guard Search of Boat Reveals 2000 Pounds of Marijuana |

As Coast Guard crews were on patrol late Tuesday, December 10, 2012, they spotted two vessels on radar just northwest of Catalina Island.
After a brief pursuit, eight people were arrested. A search of one of the vessels in which four of the eight arrestees were on revealed 2000 pounds of marijuana.
The men and the marijuana were transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigation agents for further investigation.
The U.S. Attorney's Office is expected to file drug trafficking charges against the four men who were on board with the drugs.
Drug trafficking charges are taken very seriously and can result in m either a misdemeanor charge or a felony charge at either state or federal level depending on all the surrounding circumstances such as type of drug, amount of drug and criminal history.

| Man Being Charged With Attmepted Murder of Parole Officer |

A parolee Steven Hoff, 45, was arrested in the shooting of a parole officer in Lake View Terrace.
Hoff is being charged with attempted murder of a police officer.
Hoff escaped officers after he shot and seriously wounded a patrol agent Wednesday January 4, 2011.
After a few hour quest, he was arrested in Lake View Terrace. Officers were already looking for Hoff because he had allegedly violated his parole. They were near a trailer when they heard gunshots and a parole agent was struck in the face and is now is serious condition.
Hoff allegedly fled on foot, and the 210 Freeway was shut down for hours between the 118 Freeway and Sunland Boulevard as officers monitored the area. Hoff was found hiding in a swimming pool.
Hoff was convicted of being a felon in possession of a weapon and making terrorist threats back in 2002. He now faces attempted murder charges and as a result of a conviction can spend over 15 years in prison.

| Alleged Robber Arrested For KFC Robbery and El Pollo Loco Attempted Robbery |

Eddie Randolph, 50, was arrested Friday December 30, 2011 on suspicion for committing an armed robbery at a KFC in Hawthorne.
Following the KFC robbery there was an attempted robbery at an El Pollo Loco in Hawthorne. A similar vehicle description and license plate description is what led officers to Randolph's home in Inglewood.
Employees at both restaurants identified Randolph as the alleged robber.
Detectives are conducting further investigations as to these robberies and other robberies that Randolph may have been involved in.
California Penal Code Section 211 makes it a crime to take personal property of another against his or her will with the use of force or threat.
Robbery
is considered a serious crime and a conviction of robbery results in a "strike" under the California Three Strikes Law.
