12 Year Old Killed in a Hit and Run
|
Matthew Cory Hudson, 21, was arrested for allegedly struck and hit a 12 year old boy skateboarding.
According to the investigation, Hudson was speeding down a residential street in his 2001 Chevy Camaro on the evening of Sunday September 4, 2011 when he struck 12 year old Jonathan Olagues who was on his skateboard on his way home from a barbecue.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the collision, Hudson did not stop. The Rialto police spotted the Camaro and began a chase until they realized that it would be too dangerous to continue the case because Hudson was driving recklessly along a crowded street. Back at the scene of the accident, the license plate of the Camaro was found. The next morning, Hudson went to the police station to report his Camaro stolen but due to inconsistencies in his statements, Hudson was put under arrest on suspicion of vehicular homicide in the hit and run of the 12 year old boy and gross negligence.
