Nathan Lee Parada, 31, was convicted today of trying to break into Paris Hilton's home last year. He was charged with a felony count of attempted residential burglary. Parada faces up to 3 years in state prison when sentenced in June. According to Deputy District Attorney Kaveh Faturechi, the jury deliberated for less than an hour before returning with a verdict. The incident occurred in Aug. 2010. Parada allegedly banged on Hilton's door and was confronted by her boyfriend. That night Hilton tweeted, "So scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes."

| Woman Sexually Assaulted by Man She Met on Match.com |
| Posted By Admin |
 |
The Los Angeles woman who is suing Match.com, spoke out this week about the sexual assault she experienced by a man she met on the dating site. The woman's attorney, Mark L. Webb, said he will ask a Los Angeles county superior court judge for a temporary injunction prohibiting the site from signing up more members until his client's demands are met. He said his client asks that the site screen members to determine if they are sexual predators. "They are a very powerful and successful online dating service, and they have the means to do this," Webb said.
In an interview with KABC-TV Channel 7, the victim said it all started out normal, "He sent me an email and said he was into golf and tennis and he had a house in the Palisades over Malibu and be liked art and culture, travel and food." But after the second date, the women claims the assault occurred. "He went straight into the bathroom when he came in my place and I sat down on the couch and waited for him," she told the TV station. "Then he came out of the bathroom and jumped me and forced me to have oral sex and then he left."
"This horrific ordeal completely blind sided me because I had considered myself savvy about online dating safety," the woman said in a statement released through her attorney last week. "Things quickly turned into a nightmare, beyond my control."
Webb said his client wants Match.com to check members' names against public sex offender registries. "It's not a guarantee," he said. "But don't you think something is better than nothing?"
Match.com said in a statement to KABC-TV that "while incidents like this one between individuals who meet on Match.com are extremely rare, it doesn't make them any less horrifying."

| Reward for Information on Giants Fan Attackers Raised to $100,000 |
| Posted By Admin |
 |
The reward being offered for information on the suspects who attacked a Giants fan was raised from $50,000 to $100,000 after the Los Angeles City Council voted to offer $50,000. Bryan Stow received life threatening injuries after being attacked last Thursday after the Dodger season opener.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich offered a $10,000 reward, the San Francisco Giants offered $10,000 and American Medical Response, the company where Stow works, offered $5,000. The Dodger then matched those rewards and pledged a $25,000 reward on Monday.
Stow is a father of two from Santa Cruz. He was one of three Giants fans attacked after Thursday's game. According to police, the suspects kicked and punched the victims, shouting expletives about the Giants as they delivered the blows. Police said the attack was unprovoked.
Councilman Ed Reyes said in a statement that the incident was cause for the dodgers to reevaluate their policies regarding alcohol sales and post-game security.
"I hope the Dodgers will step forward and add to the reward," Councilman Dennis Zine said.
