| Marion 'Suge' Knight Asked By Judge To Stay Away From Man And Family After Alleged Assault |
| Posted By |

Last week Marion "Suge" Knight, 45, was arrested for pointing a gun at a person. Now the judge has ordered Knight to not get anywhere near a rap artist, Elwood E. Chatman, who claimed that Knight threatened to kill him. The Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, Carol Boas Goodson, ordered that Knight needs to stay 100 yards away from the rapper and his family.
In Chatman's court papers it is stated that Knight told Chatman that he would take Chatman's life. Chatman even went on to assert that he had been threatened and assaulted twice before, though he did not say if Knight was the assaulter in his prior incidents.
The Los Angeles police report states that last Thursday Knight was put under arrest on a warrant for driving on a suspended license, and on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon. A hearing is scheduled for June 8.
Assault and battery are two separate and distinct criminal acts, usually grouped together in a criminal charge. If you threaten someone with bodily harm with the intention to inflict it, then the crime is considered assault. The crime of battery is when one causes bodily harm to another by using direct physical contact. Both assault and battery are violent crimes and are very serious charges in the state of California.
If you are have been accused of, formally charged with or have been arrested for assault and battery then it is very important that you hire an experienced criminal defense lawyer immediately. | Food Network Personality Plots To Murder Wife |
| Posted By Admin |
 |
Juan-Carlos Cruz, most commonly known as a Food Network personality, was charged on Monday with solicitation to commit murder and attempted murder. Prosecutors allege that Cruz asked at least two Santa Monica homeless to kill his wife in exchange for money. His co-workers and neighbors described him as a community volunteer, dedicated churchgoer, and loving husband.
Santa Monica police detectives went undercover for a weeklong investigation until they arrested Cruz. The authorities learned of Cruz's plot when one of the homeless men he solicited told the Santa Monica police. Cruz is said to have had provided the homeless with a weapon and cellphone. Other sources later said that he wanted one of the homeless men to strangle his wife.
Cruz had his first court appearance in the Los Angeles County Superior Court where he pleaded not guilty. If he is found guilty he could be facing a life term in prison.
